How to do the Accurate Test procedure

accurate_img1.jpg

Note: If you do not have the time to perform the test immediately, collect your urine in a clean dry cup and cover and store refrigerated. DO NOT store it for more than 72 hours (3 days) after collection. Allow the urine to warm to room temperature before testing (at least 30 minutes).

When you are ready to perform the test?

accurate_img2.jpg1. Remove the Test Stick from its protective
foil pouch and hold by the textured thumb grip.

2. Remove the cap.

accurate_img3.jpg 3. Hold the Test Stick with the exposed absorbent wick facing downward. Hold the absorbent wick directly in your urine stream for at least 5 seconds. The splashguard will prevent excess splashing from affecting the result.

accurate_img4.jpg(Note: If you prefer, you can urinate into a clean dry cup and dip the wick at least halfway into this urine for at least 10 seconds.)

4. With the wet absorbent wick still pointing downwards, replace the cap and place the Test Stick on a flat surface with the windows facing up, for three minutes*. You will see a light pink colour move through the window as your test begins to work - this will not affect your test result.

5. Wait for 3 minutes and read your test result as described in the next section.

*To avoid affecting the test result wait at least 3 minutes before lifting the stick.

How to read the result

accurate_img5.jpg POSITIVE

Read your test result 3 minutes after you hold the absorbent wick in your urine. A positive result may be observed in as early as 1 minute. To verify a negative result, allow the test to run for the full 3 minutes. DO NOT interpret your result after 10 minutes.

You have a positive result when you have a purple-pink line in the oval Reference Window AND a purple-pink line in the square Test Window. The lines may vary in shade. Even if one of the lines is very light, this result means that the pregnancy hormone (hCG.) was found in your urine. You can assume you are pregnant and should consult your doctor.

accurate_img6.jpg NEGATIVE

If you have only one purple-pink line in the oval Reference Window and no visible line appears in the square Test Window, your result is negative. You can assume you are not pregnant. If your period has not started within 7 days after performing the test, repeat the test using another Accurate Home Pregnancy Test and a fresh urine sample. If the result is still negative, and your period has not begun, you should consult your doctor.
accurate_img7.jpg INVALID

When the oval Reference Window does not show a line, the test result should be considered invalid. The line in the Reference Window is an "assurance control" that signals that you have performed the test correctly. Improper test procedures or expiration of the Test Stick are the most frequent causes of an invalid result. In the event of an invalid result, it is recommended that you repeat the test with another Accurate Home Pregnancy Test and a fresh urine sample.

Frequently asked questions and answers

How accurate is the Accurate Home Pregnancy Test?
In BOTH laboratory studies and clinical studies with consumers, the test proved to be over 99% accurate.

What colour are the lines that appear in the Reference Window and Test Window?
The coloured lines can range from a light pink to a dark purple, depending on the concentration of the pregnancy hormone in your urine. However, the depth of colour does not affect your results.

How long will my result remain before it fades away or changes?
positive result is likely to remain unchanged but the background may become darker. On the other hand, with a negative result, a very faint line may appear in the Test Window after 10 minutes. That line, showing after 10 minutes has passed, is not a positive result. Remember, DO NOT interpret test results after 10 minutes.

Can any medication affect the result? Will drinking alcohol or using an oral contraception affect my test results?
Drinking alcohol will not affect the results. Oral contraceptives, pain killers, antibiotics or hormone therapies should not affect the test result. Some medicines which contain hCG (hCG which are given by injection include A.P.L., Pregnyl and Profasi) can give a false result.

Will the amount of liquid I drink affect the results?
Excessive fluid intake could dilute your urine, causing the amount of hCG present not to be detected properly. It is therefore not advisable to change your normal fluid consumption. You may concentrate the hCG in your urine by reducing your fluid intake and not urinating for about 2 hours prior to testing. Alternatively, you may test an early morning sample.

How does the Accurate Home Pregnancy Test work?
When you are pregnant, your body produces a pregnancy hormone known as hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). The presence of this hormone will give you a positive result, a line in the Reference Window and a line in the Test Window. If there is no hCG detected, a negative result will show only a line in the Reference Window.

Were can I buy Accurate?
Accurate pregnancy test kits can only be bought from your local pharmacy
